Design Goals

This area covers the themes and overall game achievements that I hope to get out of the game experience:

 

  • Immersive Gameplay, that draws the player in:                                          

I want the player to feel like they can be a part of the character's story throughout, to feel all the trials and tribulations they go through. Also, the changes in which happen throughout the game must be experienced by the player fully, so they can retain the message being portrayed to them.

 

  • Understanding the message:                                          

The message is that of change, I want the player to understand that sometimes the smallest decisions can make a larger impact. I want the player to experience change fully throughout the gameplay, with hints towards the larger message of the game.

 

  • Unpredictable gameplay change:                                          

I want the player to have to work out what changes have happened to their gameplay and mechanics, without it being obvious. 

 

  • Most importantly fun gameplay:                                          

The game must be a challenge but overall, I want the player to have fun. I want the experience to be enjoyable enough to possibly allow replayability and for recommendations to then also spread through word of mouth also.
